Experts from Ufa highly evaluated the work of Perm authorities on urban greening
Today, a delegation from the capital of the Republic of Bashkortostan is in Perm on business visit. Ufa collegues visited sites modernised for the City's 300th anniversary and got acquainted with Perm's experience in various areas of urban economy.
In 2022, the mayors of Perm and Ufa signed a cooperation agreement. Thus, within two years, specialists from both cities have been attending diverse events and sharing their experience in implementing municipal projects. For example, this summer, a delegation from Ufa took part in the eco-festival "Nature of the City" and held several business meetings in Perm City Administration. The Mayor of Ufa, Ratmir Mavliev, visited Perm twice this year: first, in January 2023, he attended an extended meeting of the Board of the Union of Russian Cities, and in October 2023 he was elected the chairman of the Association of Volga Region Cities at the General Meeting of the Association held in our city.
The delegation includes Aidar Bazgudinov, Head of the Mayor's Office, Andrey Remennikov, director of the "Gorzelenhoz", as well as heads of utilities and city improvement departments of Ufa district administrations. The members of the delegation learned about the organisation of mutual activities of regional and municipal authorities on the improvement of the city. In particular, deputy head of division for ecology and nature management, Andrey Zelenin told his counterparts about the specifics of the implementation of the most significant investment projects.
- Forests cover almost 36 thousand hectares of Perm territory, which is about half of the city. Now, we are implementing the "Green Ring" project under the initiative of the Governor of Perm Region, Dmitry Makhonin. As part of the project, it is planned to improve six pilot areas in the valleys of small rivers Yegoshikha and Danilikha with the total area of 102 hectares, renovate the Yegoshikha memorial natural park (The Yegoshikha cemetery), the park of culture and leisure "Balatovo" and recreational development of the Chernyaevsky City Forest, - said Andrey Zelenin.
Also, the head of the Department of Housing and Public Utilities of Perm Administration, Stanislav Baskakov, presented the municipality's work in the field of waste management and improvement of adjacent territories, including the national project "Housing and Urban Environment". Olga Yakovleva, Deputy Head of the City Department of Roads and Improvement, shared her experience in organizing the greeining of major urban spaces.
In addition, as part of the business program, the city visitors checked out various city facilities that were renovated for the 300th anniversary of Perm. For instance, the upgraded Gogol Garden, the Tatischev Park, the Kama River Embankment, the city esplanade and others. The members of the delegation were told that Perm is the greenest city in Russia, according to analyses of satellite images by the Roscosmos State Corporation. Every year several thousand shrubs, flower gardens, and large trees are planted in the city. The Head of the Mayor's Office of Ufa, Aidar Bazgudinov, was impressed by the amount of work that had been done in Perm as part of the preparations for the 300th anniversary.
- On our first visit last year, we noted for ourselves an example of large-scale preparation for the city's anniversary. And today we saw that everything that was planned has been accomplished. The same applies to the facade repairs, and the integrative improvement of central streets as well. We were particularly impressed by the modern urban space greening, such as the esplanade and the Kama River Embankment, city parks in general, - said Aidar Bazgudinov.
The members of the delegation thanked the Perm administration for organizing a busy and productive work programme and invited Perm officials to Ufa for its 450th anniversary next year. Furthermore, during their visit, the Ufa specialists toured the municipal nursery "Gorzelenstroy" and learnt about the experience of the administration of the Dzerzhinsky district in maintaining the territory.
